Everything a buyer should be able to check before paying.
This page brings Belegant’s terms, privacy information, refund and withdrawal position, seller disclosure, support policy, and system requirements into one permanent destination.
Public sales remain closed. A lawyer must approve this text and the missing service address, business status, tax details, withdrawal process, and final operating-system versions before it can become binding customer information.

Lemon Squeezy acts as merchant of record and authorized reseller for payment, tax, invoice, chargeback, and transaction-refund handling. Nicolas Schneider remains responsible for Belegant, the licence, product functionality, support, and product-related legal obligations.
Terms for using Belegant
1. Product and eligibility
Belegant is a personal receipt-intelligence and spending-analysis desktop application for individuals and households. It is not accounting, tax, financial, medical, or professional advice. A customer must be legally able to enter the relevant contract and provide accurate account information.
2. Plans, price, and contract formation
Free, Standard, and Max are presented in EUR. The current paid plans are monthly subscriptions. The final price, taxes, billing interval, renewal terms, and merchant-of-record identity appear in Lemon Squeezy checkout before an order is submitted. A paid transaction is concluded under Lemon Squeezy’s Buyer Terms; the Belegant licence and product obligations also follow these product terms.
3. Account and licence
Paid access is linked to the customer account and, under the current plan configuration, one activated device. The licence is personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and limited to lawful personal use. Customers may not sell, sublicense, bypass licensing or security controls, or use Belegant to infringe another person’s rights. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
4. Local data and optional online functions
Receipt records and settings are stored locally by default. Account, licence, checkout, update, support, diagnostics, receipt extraction, and AI features require or may use online services as described in the privacy section. Customers are responsible for maintaining backups of local data before deletion, migration, or device failure.
5. Subscription, cancellation, and updates
Paid plans renew for the interval shown at checkout until cancelled. Customers can manage or cancel billing through the customer portal linked from their receipt, billing email, or Belegant account. Cancellation stops future renewal and ordinarily leaves access available until the end of the paid period, unless the checkout, law, or a refund decision states otherwise. Stable builds receive only stable updates; preview channels require an intentional preview build.
6. Availability, defects, and liability
No service can be promised without interruption. Planned maintenance, provider incidents, or security work may temporarily affect online functions. Statutory conformity, update, remedy, warranty, and liability rights for digital products are not excluded. Any final limitation of liability must be reviewed and will not apply where law does not permit it, including liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, and mandatory consumer rights.
7. Ending access and changes
Access may be restricted where necessary to address fraud, security risk, non-payment, or a material breach, subject to mandatory notice and remedy rights. Material changes will apply prospectively and will be communicated when legally required. German law is intended to govern without removing mandatory protections of the consumer’s country of residence; this choice requires final legal approval.
How personal data is handled
The intended controller for Belegant product processing is Nicolas Schneider. Contact: support@belegant.app. The controller’s serviceable postal address must be inserted before public processing begins.
| Activity | Data and purpose | Intended legal basis / recipients | Retention position |
|---|---|---|---|
| Website delivery | IP address, request time, route, user agent, and security/error information needed to deliver and protect the site. | Legitimate interests in secure delivery; hosting through Vercel. No advertising analytics or marketing cookies are intentionally enabled. | Short operational periods under the production hosting configuration; exact periods require provider-contract review. |
| Account and licence | Email address, provider identifier, account ID, plan, entitlement, licence hash, device identifier, and status. | Contract steps and performance; Supabase and the selected OAuth provider. | For the account/contract and statutory record periods; deletion requests remain subject to required transaction records. |
| Checkout and billing | Selected plan and language, account link, billing contact, order, subscription, tax, invoice, refund, and payment status. Belegant does not receive full card details. | Contract performance and legal obligations; Lemon Squeezy is merchant of record and handles transaction data under its own buyer/privacy terms. | According to legal accounting obligations and Lemon Squeezy’s applicable retention rules. |
| Local receipt library | The local database, receipt records, searchable text, products, stores, totals, corrections, settings, exports, and browser chat history are stored on the customer’s device. Folder watching, duplicate checks, validation, search, charts, exports, cleanup, and deletion run locally. | Product performance. The customer controls export, cleanup, and deletion. | Until the customer deletes the local data or applies the configured cleanup period. |
| Receipt AI extraction | After clear in-app consent, the complete new receipt image or PDF, its media type, and extraction instructions are sent through OpenRouter to the model shown before processing. The same file may be sent a second time to create searchable receipt text. Product names and receipt metadata may later be sent for optional categorisation, measurement, or nutrition enrichment. | Consent before the first request; OpenRouter and the endpoint provider serving the displayed model. Consent can be withdrawn for future processing in Settings. | Belegant requires Zero Data Retention routes and denies provider data collection for each request. OpenRouter still retains request metadata such as token counts and latency. Local model-result retention is configurable. |
| Optional AI Chat | The question and selected data scope are sent through OpenRouter only when the customer enables AI Chat and sends a message. Totals mode sends aggregates; detailed mode may send structured totals, line items, metadata, and tool results. Original receipt images, PDFs, and raw receipt text are excluded from AI Chat. | Consent and the customer’s requested function; OpenRouter and the endpoint provider serving the model selected in AI Chat. | The same per-request privacy routing applies. The browser chat transcript follows the customer’s local retention choice. |
| Transactional email | Email address, language, message type, delivery metadata, and the minimum account/billing context needed for the message. | Contract performance and legitimate service communication; Supabase and Resend. | Delivery logs and messages follow the configured provider and statutory record periods. |
| Support | Sender address, message, attachments, diagnostics voluntarily supplied, and response history. | Contract steps/performance or legitimate interest in resolving requests; Cloudflare Email Routing, Gmail, and SMTP2GO. | Only as long as needed for the request, defence of claims, and applicable record duties; a final schedule requires legal approval. |
| Diagnostics | Technical version, operating system, error and performance context. Receipt contents, licence keys, account links, headers, and request bodies are designed to be excluded or redacted. | Consent where optional, otherwise legitimate interest in security and reliability; Sentry only when production telemetry is explicitly enabled. | The production sampling and deletion schedule must be approved before activation. |
Provider controls and retention
Belegant requires OpenRouter routes marked as Zero Data Retention and excludes endpoints marked as collecting customer data. OpenRouter states that it does not retain prompt or response content unless account logging or data-use opt-ins are enabled, but it keeps request metadata. Its optional content-logging feature must remain off for the Belegant account. Endpoint-provider policies can change; the current details are available in OpenRouter’s data-collection, Zero Data Retention, and provider-policy documentation.
Your choices and rights
You can refuse or withdraw external-processing consent, keep AI Chat disabled, choose its data detail level, inspect representative payloads, export local data, apply cleanup periods, and delete local Belegant data. Withdrawal stops future requests but cannot retract completed processing. Subject to the GDPR’s conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection; withdraw consent for future processing; and complain to a competent data-protection authority. Requests can be sent to support@belegant.app.
International services and security
Standard OpenRouter routing is not an EU-only processing guarantee; receipt data may be processed outside Germany or the EEA. EU in-region routing is a separate enterprise option. The final notice must identify the production regions, roles, data-processing agreements, and transfer safeguards after the production accounts are frozen. Belegant uses encrypted transport, explicit consent, minimal-purpose payloads, and strict provider routing, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
What happens when you change your mind or something is wrong
Cancellation
A monthly subscription can be cancelled for future renewal through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal. Cancellation does not by itself refund a completed billing period. Product access ordinarily continues until the paid period ends, unless a refund, chargeback, defect remedy, or mandatory law requires another result.
Voluntary refunds
Requests can be sent to support@belegant.app with the order email and order number, but never card details or a licence key. Lemon Squeezy processes approved transaction refunds as merchant of record. The final voluntary refund window and eligibility rules have not been approved and must not reduce statutory rights.
Statutory withdrawal and digital-content consent
Consumers may have a statutory 14-day withdrawal right for distance contracts. For digital content supplied immediately, that right can expire early only if all legal conditions are met, including the customer’s express prior consent, acknowledgement of the resulting loss of the right, and the required contract confirmation. Public checkout must be verified to capture and preserve those declarations before immediate delivery is enabled.
The live online interface must provide a continuously accessible electronic “Withdraw contract” function during the withdrawal period and immediately confirm the submission on a durable medium. That production function is not active while sales are closed.
Defects and mandatory remedies
Refund wording does not replace statutory rights when a digital product is not supplied, is defective, lacks required updates, or cannot be brought into conformity. Contact support with the order reference and a description of the problem so repair, replacement, price reduction, termination, or refund rights can be assessed.
How to get help safely
Email support@belegant.app in German or English. Include the Belegant version, operating system, what you expected, what happened, and the exact error. Remove receipt contents, licence keys, account links, payment-card data, and unrelated personal information before attaching diagnostics.
Support covers installation, account and licence access, billing navigation, defects, updates, and use of the documented Belegant functions. It does not provide tax, accounting, financial, legal, medical, or third-party hardware support. “Priority support” for Max means queue priority; no guaranteed response or resolution time is promised until a staffed service-level policy is approved.
For urgent account or payment security concerns, put “Security” in the subject. For billing cancellation use the customer portal where available. For withdrawals or refunds, include the order reference but no sensitive payment credentials.
Check compatibility before purchase
| Area | Planned customer target | Still requires release evidence |
|---|---|---|
| macOS | Separate Apple silicon and Intel Mac installer targets are prepared. Public delivery requires signed and notarized DMGs. | The minimum macOS version must be fixed after clean-install testing of the final signed and notarized release. |
| Windows | 64-bit Windows 11 with an EXE or MSI installer. | The final signed, timestamped installer must pass clean-install, uninstall, and upgrade testing. |
| Internet | Required for download, sign-in, licence and entitlement checks, billing, updates, support, and optional AI/extraction services. | Offline grace and recovery behaviour must be verified with the shipped version. |
| Account | A supported browser and an account are needed for paid plan activation. Free activation also uses an account on the first device. | The production OAuth and recovery journey must pass its final buyer test. |
| Local data | Customers need write access to the selected receipt folder and enough local storage for the database, receipt files, logs, and exports. | A numeric disk-space recommendation must be measured from the final build and representative receipt sets. |
| Receipt formats | Image and PDF receipts supported by the import flow; results depend on source quality and language. | The public format/size matrix must be frozen from release acceptance tests. |
Only the official download page may identify a build as a customer release. Unsigned preview files are not public installers.
Complaints and dispute resolution
Please contact support@belegant.app first so the issue can be investigated. The supplier’s willingness or obligation to participate in a procedure before a consumer conciliation body has not been legally determined. The final seller disclosure and terms must include the approved statement before sales open.
The former European Commission Online Dispute Resolution platform is not linked because it was discontinued and its governing regulation was repealed with effect from 20 July 2025.
